Rising short interest is usually viewed as a bearish indicator, however, like so many other indicators, it can be a contrarian indicator at extremes. Keep track of the officially reported short interest for all of your stocks here. The data are updated twice per month around mid-month and at the end of the month. Also provided are the average daily share volume and the days to cover ratio assuming all of the volume is used to cover outstanding short positions. It is this days-to-cover ratio that is important for a given stock.
